The Lagos Family

Sister Egbert loves to make Alba her favorite-Apple Pie-we always enjoy spending time with this great family-lots of fun memories. I really liked the picture of Tommy and Michael with their grandma-they are getting ready to put their Mission papers in-they will be 19 later this month!!
Jeanine is going to be just like her Mom-she is so loving. Rocky their dog was a little jealous when Max the cat first arrived but he is doing better now!!

Zone Conference-8 July

It was a Great Day-the day before had been very rainy-Monsoon season-and every rainy school day the children have an umbrella parade down our street!!! Sister "Egbert is going to miss her kitchen and all of the Memories we have had here. Zone conference is always fun-little bit long this time but fun.. Sister Jennings made sure everyone especially the younger Missionaries understood what cleaning supplies are needed!!

Sunday and Monday 5-6 July

We love our Daegu Military Branch-great picture of Sister Egbert!! Monday started out by going to the bank to make a Deposit-last months rent!! Close to the bank is Sister Egberts favorite store for ----------and next to that was an antique shop. Can anyone guess what is in the picture besides the two brass bells?? It is a head rest-not only do real Koreans sleep on the floor but this is a head rest-their pillow!!
We also crossed another place off the list-Bullo-dong Park. We have seen pictures-drove by the area on the bus several times, but today is the day. We took the Subway out to Arangyo subway stop-caught a cab got him going across the bridge and he got all frustrated because we don't speak Korean!! Finally we see a Bullo-dong Tomb sign and then we were ok-it takes a lot of faith to do what we do every day!! It was so different than what I had imagined-after touring a few private gardens we figured out how to find the tombs.
The sky was overcast, it was quiet, we were the only ones there, and there were lots of wild flowers and 210 mounds of georgeous green grass where peoples from long ago are entombed!!
On the way back we walked down through a neighborhood to catch a city bus-thats when we seen the motorcycle with the air horns and speakers-1st one of those!! The bus was full but it got us back to the subway stop-pictures of the Arangyo Bridge and all of the flowers.

Celebrating the 4th of July

This is an amazing World!! Seoul Temple 200 miles away from Daegu-come home have a wonderful Steak and all the trimmings Dinner with the Abbotts and then a little Geneology work!!! It just so happens that Kelly Abbott is related to Elder Egbert through Robert Cowden Egbert. I never knew that Joseph Egbert had a brother named Robert. Their Father was John Egbert my Great Great Grandfather!! It has been an amazing 4th of July-Sister Abbott made the Georgious Cake and the Chef for the steak was President Abbott. Thanks to everyone for such a wonderful day!! And thanks especially to Sister Abbotts Grandfather Robert Henry Despain for the Geneology book that he put together!

Seoul LDS Temple-4 July 2009

The 1st Saturday of the last 15 months- we have worked and helped the District members here at the Temple. This time will be the last time before we go home on the 28 July. It has been one of the Highlights of our Mission here in Korea.

Seoul-War Memorial Museum

We never had very much time-we never went inside-just wanted to see the Outside area of the Museum. The B-52 Bomber was very impressive-note the jet airplane underneath one of its wings!! The Statues are Huge-I thought I had big hands!! Sister Egbert is wonderful. We both really liked the United Nations Flags...

Insadong-Antique shops

Insadong has one very famous Brush shop-Queen Elizabeth's picture of her visiting, is there in the shop. They all are very pricey-so many sizes and so many different handles. Each one is like a piece of artwork. We talked to a lot of people-we visited with some University students from China and Japan, they seemed to know English very well. I liked the paintings of the Traditional Korea the best.!!
